Lean Scale Up and Transfer

The scale up and transfer of a new product or process to manufacturing is problematic in many organisations, as internal stakeholders often have very different needs. The development team want to transfer the new product or process to manufacturing as soon as possible, but the manufacturing group want to delay the transfer, as long as possible, until all scale up issues are sorted. This can lead to wasted time and effort that results in extended scale up and transfer timelines and cost over runs.
